Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell answered these question by stating that working with the White House won’t be a top priority, and that his primary goal over the next two years is to make sure Obama is not reelected. These attitudes breed party polarization and hinder political progress. The focus of all senators, especially group leaders, should be seeking the best outcome for their country, not their party.
