Former BP CEO Tony Hayward has no regrets

It is disconcerting to see how Tony Hayward does not feel any remorse over the BP spill. BP needs to stop blaming other people for the companies wrongdoings. When Hayward said that "“BP’s contingency plans were inadequate. We were making it up day to day," but "I'm not certain I'd do anything different" anger began to fill me. It was BP's ignorance and lack of planing that caused the spill which killed thousands of animals, destroyed various industries and harmed many shorelines. BP need to step up and start accepting the fact that mistakes were made and it is there job to help clean up the mess and prevent another spill from happening in the future.

Is it really fair to blame former CEO Tony Hayward for the BP oil spills. In today's sound bite world BP's reaction was typified by Hayward's statement that he just "wanted his life back." What is easily overlooked is how well BP mobilized to clean up this mess. Within 10 days of the spill BP had organized a cleanup force of over 2000 people to start cleaning the water. Rather than continuing to blame BP for this spill we should recognize the fact that BP took responsibility for the event and acted to minimize the damage, stop looking backwards and start focusing on the future and how we can prevent anything like this from ever happening again.
