As a House staff member, I could not imagine walking in to see my superior dressed in pajamas with disheveled hair and morning breath. There should be a line between personal space and work space. We all want our Congressmen to work diligently, but they need time to step back from the political scene and recharge. It may be hard to do so when they sleep in their workspace. On the other hand, it is good to see freshman Congressmen so enthused to serve in the House. Their desire to live in Congressional Offices marks a passionate and energetic wave of representatives… either that, or a stingy bunch unwilling to pay the high prices of D.C. real estate. As faithful constituents, perhaps we should assume the former.
