I think it is interesting that the Tea Party movement gained momentum through online networking and other modern means of communication. It is impressive that the movement can sustain a large following without any centralized leadership, and is impressive that Tea Party Patriots across the country can effectively organize through online communication from their homes. It will be interesting to see how much the Tea Party movement will grow before the presidential elections of 2012.

I found that the Tea Party movement was similar in nature to Linda Mussman's political endeavors in Hudson. The Tea Party represents the foundation of American politics, which is people gathering together to discuss their views and opinions, and their desire for change. The Tea Party is reaching out to the American people on a local level with hopes to re-establish a conservative government. Linda Mussman has been doing similar things on the local level in Hudson. She has reached out to the people in hopes to represent their best interest, especially when it came to the St. Lawrence Factory that was going to be built right on the Hudson River. It is important to recognize the power and ability that local governments have. Linda Mussman was able to stop a foreign corporation from contaminating the town of Hudson, while the Tea Party Network has rallied Americans across the nation to support Republicans in the upcoming elections.

Interesting comments. Perhaps we are witnessing a return to the grassroots.
