Good idea?

It makes sense that she would be a possible choice for the VP spot. The Clintons are great at gathering support among working class white voters which at this point favor the GOP over Dems by about 22 points. If she were to enter the ticket when Obama was in a hypothetically weaker position than he is now for 2012 it might help to have her on the ticket. Not to mention the millions of female voters she got onto her campaign in the 2008 primar, this would also prove incredibly useful for him and for these reasons it sounds like it would be a good idea. However this makes me think that since she is also reportedly in the running to replace Bob Gates as Defenese Secretary it makes me think that the talent pool must not be terribly deep over at the administration if she is the first person everyone thinks of whenever there is any possible or existent vacancy.

I read someone speculating about Hillary and Joe Biden swapping jobs. She probably would strength ticket, but being perceived as dumping Biden might be seen as a sign of weakness.

I don't think dumping Biden would be a sign of weakness, he has a lot of experience in Foreign Affairs and would represent the country well as the Secretary of State. However, Hillary Clinton is more recognizable on an international level, but it is debatable which job that would better suit her for. She's done well so far, which would help the Democratic ticket. As long as she and Biden publicly support the swap, the country would see it as a strengthening move.
